How ?
My boyfriend and I were planning to do a group trip with his friends for June 2027. The idea came up in August during a gathering with his friends but nothing is confirmed. They're all working adults, so it's hard to get everyone's schedules to line up. When he brought it up to his friends again no one said anything about it so I told him that we should just do it alone. They have started talking about it again but it was very brief. But we have looked at flight tickets periodically and I’ve been looking for things to do in vacation country. But now because his friends started bringing it up again, he keeps saying that the original plan is to travel with them etc etc. Here comes the hard part.
Some context: I'm studying overseas and I'm back in SG for now but I fly back in Feb 2027. After that we won't see each other in person for about four months, and I won't be back in SG until possibly EOY. So our time together in June is limited. I've told him a few times after that I would want it to be a trip with just the two of us. Nothing against his friends, I just want quality time with him since we'll have been apart for so long. His response is that if I don't want to go on the trip with his friends, he'll meet up with me after it ends. That would mean losing up to a week of the time we have together. He also said I shouldn't make him choose between me and his friends, because he'll choose both. I understand his friendships matter to him, and I'm not trying to make him pick. I just feel like a few days to a week is a lot to give up when we have so little time. When I asked him “so you don’t want to spend that extra time with me” he replied “also no choice right since you don’t want to travel with my friends which means we can spend more time together”.
They’ve been friends for literally their whole life and this is a ‘pact’ that they’ve made = to travel together as a group yearly. It’s not that I don’t understand but I feel that this is a whole different circumstance/situation… Am I being unreasonable ?
