Male Bengal cat showing sudden aggression family members
Hi everyone,
I’m looking for advice about a serious behavior change in my cat.
We have a male Bengal cat (not neutered yet). Over the past few weeks, his behavior has changed significantly.
He now:
urinates outside the litter box (mostly on beds and blankets)
marks specific areas in the house (especially around the bathroom)
shows sudden aggression toward family members
chases and tries to attack my mother and sometimes my sister
The aggression seems very territorial. For example, when my mother approaches areas where he has urinated, he immediately becomes tense and may attack or chase her.
This behavior is completely new.
We have already seen a veterinarian about this issue, and he is scheduled to be neutered tomorrow.
The situation at home is becoming stressful and sometimes difficult to manage.
My main question is:
Has anyone here hired a cat behaviorist for a similar situation? Did it actually help in cases of urine marking and aggression, or was it not effective once the behavior was already established?
Any real experiences would really help.
