Is the curl pattern chart even real??

I've always said that I had wavy hair, but I always adored my curls. If I have curls, does this make my hair curly? My hair is VERY moody. When it's happy, aka healthy, it's curly and I love it! If I move states, change shampoos, feel depressed, etc. my hair reflects it. It becomes straight, with a light wave, but it's more like kinky and brittle. OH. AND FLUFFY. Like Wake up in the morning looking like Farah Faucet with bed head.

My first question is: What's my curl type? Or curl pattern? I want a wide scope of opinions, because I'm curious what different people think.

My second question is: Does anyone agree with the controversy that I've seen already surrounding this hair type chart? Or do the social media algorithms just rage bait me with zesty commenters arguing? I've seen a lot of people argue about what makes a curl a curl, and I don't know if I have curly hair or not. There's been a very present cultural appropriation argument in there, as well.

Is there any validity to the curl chart? I know people say that you can have more than one hair type, but what am I supposed to do, sit there and count how many 2Cs I have, how many 4Cs I have, etc. (Probably far off numbers, I don't remember the chart right now.) Not only that, but as varying as my hair is, am I supposed to remember all of the categories and just pick one for that day if someone asks?? 😆

I also kind of have a theory that the whole idea was started to make it easier to market hair products, but just a theory...

EDIT: Forgot to add what I used today.
