Puppy training tip -teaching “leave it”

My chocolate lab is 10 weeks old. She has picked up on a lot during training and we have moved on “leave it“. There is a particular corner of my bookshelf that she continuously goes to chew on. I have started using “leave it“ to stop the chewing. Now the pattern looks like this… She goes to the bookshelf, licks it or starts to chew it, I say “leave it” she immediately stops and comes to me, sits down and waits for a treat. She goes back to the bookshelf and the pattern continues. It goes on and on repeatedly so now I think she’s totally playing me and continues the pattern just to get the treat. I think her little puppy brain has now learned that if she keeps doing it, I will keep telling her to leave it and she will keep getting rewarded for stopping. And now I think I’m just rewarding the repeated behavior. How should I mix this up and interrupt this pattern?

Also: before anyone suggests it, I’ve tried Bitter Apple on the bookshelf, doesn’t phase her.

Edited for typo.

Exhausted or not feeling well?

I have had my English lab puppy for about 2 weeks. She’s 10 weeks old. She’s my first puppy. Our first two weeks together have been very predictable, she has wild moments, sleepy moments, we are still potty training and everything seems good. Tonight, she is different. She was napping before dinner, woke up and was excited for dinner, then went right back to sleep. She is knocked out! Since raising a puppy completely new to me, I am looking for advice on the difference between an exhausted puppy and a puppy who may not feel well. Today we were outside all day and she missed her afternoon nap so she’s probably just tired, but what are some signs of a puppy doesn’t feel well?
