This is…Spinal Tea?

How do you scoop tea with a spoon for 4 months and not notice an animal vertebra conspicuously buried a quarter-inch in? Also, this couldn’t come from a rodent in a packing facility, that’s big enough to be a raccoon vertebra that they definitely didn’t just find in the woods…

2005 Ranger cabin water leak help

Hey everyone, I just bought a 2005 Ford Ranger with 65,000 miles on it. The lady who owned it kept it as a gardening truck for many years and did not drive it often, but she had all the fluids changed regularly.

I noticed when I was messing around in the cab recently that the sound proofing under the vinyl floor was pretty wet, so I did some research and found that the cowls were both clogged with mulch. I have cleared them out (having to pop the passenger fender off to access the passenger side, a real pain to reach) and found that while I was running water through the cowl drain to make sure it worked properly, the driver and passenger floors got wet again. The driver side was a trickle and I think I found a hole in the firewall where it was coming in (unclogging the passenger cowl drain temporarily reclogged the driver one), but the passenger side got a lot wetter.

I found that the hinge where the hood connects to the body leaks drops water almost constantly when water is running through the cowl drain on that side. From there, it drips down and collects near the evaporator coil housing, which is padded with an open cell foam gasket where it meets the firewall:

Inside the cab, I found that the door opening mechanism for the AC unit was dripping with water that had come down the length of the arm from inside the blower motor case. Additionally, there was a good bit of water splattered under the dash, underneath where I suspect the evaporator coils more or less are on the other side.

So, here is my question: do you think that the leak in the cab is related to the water leak from the hood hinge? It seems like a lot of water for that one issue to cause—I can’t have had the hose running for more than a minute. I am considering putting flex seal on that spot and maybe some flex tape or flex seal above the open cell foam gaskets to see if that helps.

Let me know if you’ve ever dealt with this issue before or if you have any insight. Thanks!
