Surprise fry!

So we recently got some pseudomugil luminatus from Daku Aquatics. And I started figuring out how to set up for breeding (spawning mop and figuring out how to separate the eggs from the parents) and we’ve been collecting eggs. In doing a water change though we found a surprise fry. We separated it from the parents and I hope it does well.

Three weeks in

First photo is a little after I started the jar and second photo is from today after I did a little water change because my TDS was high.
Plants have grown in a lot. At some point I’ll trim some of them to use in my patio pond I’m setting up. I plan on removing the tiny sponge filter and light at some point to see how it does with nothing but I’m enjoying it how it is right now.

(I originally posted the jar on another account but use this one now)

Breeding luminatus rainbowfish

So I was hoping to breed my luminatus rainbowfish (for myself mostly) and I was hoping to keep them with the parents in the same tank but in a breeding net/box. The one I bought though has mesh that’s way too big. Is there a way to keep the eggs and fry in the same tank but separated so the adults don’t eat them?

Any other type of net or box that can stay in the tank?

I’ve got two berried shrimp!

I’ve got two berries mama shrimp! I couldn’t get a good photo of the other one as they’re both hanging out in the back of the tank but I’m hoping when I feed them some stuff later they’d come up for a bit so I can get a better look to see how far along they are (any eyes or not). We’ve had the shrimp for just over a month so far.

Some shrimp (including one of our babies) on the shrimp lollipops I just bought. I wasn’t sure if they were gonna like it but they all loved it. Including some of our ramshorn snails. Will be a nice treat for them occasionally.

Just want to confirm, this is a Malian trumpet snail right? It’s a hitchhiker from the plants probably but I’m looking to add more to get more turnover in the substrate, but wondering if I should just wait for it to reproduce (I think there’s at least one or two more in there somewhere)
