Ramshorn snails? (Canandaigua Lake)

These shells were found around Canandaigua Lake in upstate NY. They look like ramshorns... are they the same kind of ramshorn snails we’d put (or find) in our aquariums?

What kind of snail is this?

I’ve treated all of my plants with an alum dip before adding to my tank but I guess something made it through.

Can anyone tell me what kind it is and the chances of any kind of population explosion.

Little bro came him this one his back

Got some Nerites for my tank, I have others in my other tank and I love them! But this guy came with a shell attached? I looked in my tank today and the shell on his back is open! I took him out to examine and there are def meaty bits inside the shell, but it doesn’t look like his it looks like whatever this is. Is this normal? Has anyone ever seen this before????

Edits: can’t change my title. Wrote this not long after I woke up 🤣 “little bro came with this on his back”*

A clam people are guessing? I assumed he had a damaged shell underneath and this was the sellers solution, as another came with a little damage too. Because I thought it was a glued on shell to fix damage but now I’m seeing this is probably NOT the case. How do I take care of it? My tank is fresh water so I don’t think it will survive??

Getting extremely mixed opinions on my snail options.

Hello, I asked a similar question a few days ago, so feel free to remove this post if this is too frequent or repetitive, I just wanted to get some more eyes on the situation as I'm frankly quite lost. I recently started a 12 liter freshwater planted tank and am exploring options for potential future inhabitants. Searching online I've seen opinions that nerite snails need a minimum of 5 gallons, ideally 10, and absolutely shouldn't be kept in such a small tank- but everyone I talk to in person keeps recommending them to me?! Big chain pet store employees I do expect to potentially be underinformed about something like this, but I was at a local aquarium store today and decided to ask around about my snail options and was, again, told I should be getting a nerite. The employee honestly seemed very surprised at my concerns, she said that she was studying this sort of thing in college, that some people even keep them in jars and that a singular nerite would be absolutely fine in a 3 gallon, and that I absolutely should not get any ramshorns or the like as they'll breed past tank capacity. I'm completely turned around now as this is pretty much exactly the opposite of advice I've seen online. Of course I'd be happy to have a nerite, they seem lovely, but I'd absolutely hate to be mistreating an animal based off bad advice. Can anyone else weigh in? What are my actual options for such a small tank? If I can't figure out what to do I'll likely just leave the tank plants-only, as I don't want to be responsible for creating bad living conditions for a snail, and I'm not currently in a position to upsize to a new tank based on new information.

Why are they like this?

My tank is being overrun by bladder snails and I fear my Killer isn't doing their job. Recorded them for nearly 20 minutes trying to get some in their path after one dropping from atop got their attention enough to dig out of the substrate (but they immediately lost them, which is why I began interfering). Are they sick? Stupid? A lazy bum not paying rent? Considering getting a second assassin but I fear it will also have shitty hunting skills.

What snail is this?

This is in an unused tank where I kept some hornwort I collected naturally growing outdoors. The ones I placed in my used aquarium were thoroughly washed but the ones here are unwashed and I noticed this snail + other smaller ones (likely children). What are these and are they safe with fish? I kept them in here because I assume they could probably carry disease

What are these features and what are they called?

I have no idea what these are, but I'm so curious. They're present on my chopstick snail and on my malaysian trumpet snails. What are they? What are they for? Are they sensory? Something else?

Mystery snails not moving

Hi there everyone. I have two mystery snails that have been showing some weird behavior. They are in a 20 gal long with 1 long finned Betta fish.
This fish does not give them the time of day, so I assume he is leaving them alone because I never see him even looking at them.
That being said, they have been half hanging out of their shells, sluggish, BUT responsive. When I touch them they close but never go out of their shell more than halfway.
They have been given an air bath, and left alone as well. I am going on 4 days not knowing what’s wrong with my pets. Pictured is my Ivory, and I have a magenta doing the same. One is eating the other not so much.
Can anyone help me help them? Parameters in comments.

Added a 3rd snail. 😅😅😅

I believe my first 2 are male because they are both larger and I’ve seen no mating behavior. Added a 3rd mystery snail, and now we have snex. 😅

How long do I have before I’ll see her lay the clutch?

Snail shaped snail trap and warning for ramshorn lovers

This is for sale in Amazon. I thought of buying it just as a trinket for my bookshelf, lol. The only traps I lay are for planaria, not snails.

Now the warning:

If anyone wants to use this, or the commercial glass traps for planaria, and not catch any snails, better cover the side with the entries with a fine filter mesh. Planaria only need a needle tip sized holes to squeeze in. l lost a couple ramshorn babies because they got trapped in the curved entries of the glass traps. Interestingly there was also a baby MTS trapped but... she reversed her march, just like a car, and got out slowly! I didn't have my phone at hand to catch it on film, sadly. But aparently ramshorns can't do this, they need to rotate and there isn't enough space for it in the trap entries.

I thought of sharing this here, in case you use traps in snail tanks.

Tentacles on bladder snails

Is this a normal part of the snail, or something else?

Is it hydra?

I have also added 15 neo shrimp to my tank over the last few weeks, and I have 2 left. 2 died but the rest have disappeared. Is it related?
