Little bro came him this one his back

Got some Nerites for my tank, I have others in my other tank and I love them! But this guy came with a shell attached? I looked in my tank today and the shell on his back is open! I took him out to examine and there are def meaty bits inside the shell, but it doesn’t look like his it looks like whatever this is. Is this normal? Has anyone ever seen this before????

Edits: can’t change my title. Wrote this not long after I woke up 🤣 “little bro came with this on his back”*

A clam people are guessing? I assumed he had a damaged shell underneath and this was the sellers solution, as another came with a little damage too. Because I thought it was a glued on shell to fix damage but now I’m seeing this is probably NOT the case. How do I take care of it? My tank is fresh water so I don’t think it will survive??

Figured I’d share. Not professional just for fun.

All of these are old, but start from oldest to newest. As you can tell in the last picture the crab is much older than the newer ones since I did it this year. I only do this occasionally for myself, friends or family.

Love that I found this sub. It’s making me want to practice a lot more and do some really cool things!!

Help me name my fish!

Just got my beautiful baby girl today! I need help with a name and I want it TØP themed!! She’s living with 3 Nerite snails known as The Bishops. I already had a fish named Ruby so that one’s out. And don’t let her white color fool you, she will change colors to idk what. Maybe pink, red or purple? Maybe others! Hard to say.

Addressing the Logan hate

I just wanted to take a moment to address all the hate that Logan is getting. I understand why people don’t like him, I never liked the brothers either. However, Logan and Oliver were very close friends. He helped him with his babies gender reveal FCOL. I know he’s done sketchy stuff in the past and has been mostly unlikable over all. I completely understand that. And if you don’t want another little piece of Oliver in the form of Slime, that’s fine! You can obvious donate in other ways. I have as well! But to think that someone who was that close to him would use his death for monetary gain is people just assuming the worst. Will this boost Prime sales? Yeah, most likely and Oliver would’ve wanted that for his friend! His family and friends are trusting Logan to do this with them. If they didn’t trust him to do this I don’t think they would’ve let it happen. Ultimately they will be the ones getting the money for Dr. Oliver Tree's Extremely Epic Art Grant for Baby Geniuses in the end.

There is a reason why in my house the word hate is not allowed. Anytime you talk about hating someone or something, the only person that hate is affecting is YOU. That’s YOUR hate to hold onto and feel, no one else’s.

I’ll end it on this note, I WILL NOT be responding to any mean or negative comments 🖐🏻. I’ve seen a lot of this negativity being thrown around and instead of doing that I’d like us all to focus on Oliver and his legacy. Not whether or not you like his friends. Being KIND is the BEST thing you can do no matter how you feel about another human! 🙏🏻

💚👽 We miss you incredibly, Alien Boy 👽💚

Should I euthanize?

As some of you may know, this is Ismoth moth, 1 of 2 rescue snails. Her lifelong companion Jake was sadly euthanized about a week or so ago. He was completely detached from his shell and could no longer go in. So I euthanized him and buried him in the backyard. I’m just wondering if I should do that with her now. She’s been pretty lethargic since he’s been gone and mostly stays like this now. I’m pretty sure she’s sad and lonely 😞 Just wondering if the right thing to do is euthanizing or not.

My burnt Marshmallow and her extremely long toe floofs. Toe feather to body ratio goes wild.

Did Jake die? 😢

I’ve had these geriatric snails for a little while now. And as some of you may know from seeing my initial post when I adopted them they were already old.

He doesn’t smell, but he’s stuck outside of his shell and definitely not moving, but his snorkel is up. When I pick him up, he does kind of fall out of the shell a little bit more. I’ve never dealt with a snail passing before, so I really don’t know if he’s dead now but I know he won’t be here much longer if he’s not. But I also don’t want to take him out of his home until he’s finally passed completely. 😢

Does my cats left(right in vid) eye look puffy/swollen?

Just noticed it when I got home from work. I cleaned it as best as I could before the video was taken. She never likes it when I clean her eyes so I try to be very gentle and only do it if I need to. I’ll keep monitoring it ofc, but wondering if anyone else has seen/dealt with it before.

Can I prop this eventually to get 3 so I can braid them?

It started off as a propagation that I got from a friend. I did lose a leaf and it struggled for a little bit, but it seems to be doing really well now. Just wondering if this might be possible to do?

Is this normal for a dryer on low heat?

I went down to check on my laundry and opened the dryer and noticed there was a smell of smoke. I also saw the back glowing(never seen this before). Then I noticed my dryers vent(see pic in comments) was not connected to itself, basically was split into 2. So I taped it and tried the dryer again. The smell was much less(now no burning smell at all) but still saw it glowing red as shown above.

Is this normal? I checked the vent for debris but didn’t see anything. I did not vacuum it. I plan on doing that tomorrow.

After birth or clado?

Not sure if I’m being an overly worried shrimp mom, but my girl was berried and is no longer. But it looks like there is still something in there? I’m worried it’s clado but I’m not sure. I’ve had a shrimp with clado before and it was definitely green. Although I know it starts off clear or not noticeable. I’ve never noticed my girls look like this after releasing her babies. Maybe it is normal and I’m just freaking out?

My geriatric snails, he’s always using her for a ride around the tank

It’s so cute. They love each other so much 🥰 and since they’re so old I see him just being with her for the ride a lot. The snex still happens but not as much. And I do need to clean their shells soon it’s been a minute 🫣 I just take a soft brush to them because of the damage. Cleaning days are Tuesdays, so don’t mind the tank and they’re MESSY lol.

Also, they are so over 3 years old at this point. I don’t know exactly how old tho but they’re having trouble completely going back into their shells pretty much all of the time now.
