I’ve treated all of my plants with an alum dip before adding to my tank but I guess something made it through.

Can anyone tell me what kind it is and the chances of any kind of population explosion.

I believe my first 2 are male because they are both larger and I’ve seen no mating behavior. Added a 3rd mystery snail, and now we have snex. 😅

How long do I have before I’ll see her lay the clutch?

The tank is a 20 long. It has an aquaclear 30 filter and a sponge filter.
Current stock is 6 glofish tetra, 6 glofish corydora, and 2 mystery snails.

I am noticing some minor algae growth. My parameters are .0 ammonia, .0 nitrite, and 20 ppm nitrates.

I was thinking adding the oto could be good to add since the root floaters and some of the plants in the tank need high light, so I don’t really want to adjust my light too much. Which is set to 80% for 8 hours a day.

If that will overstock the tank, what are some other options. I don’t really want to add nerite snails and also not looking to add “pest” snails.

I literally never know where I’m going to find one of them when I check my tank.

I just want to start off by thanking everyone who answered my questions and gave me guidance.
My original fish seem so much happier and outgoing and the additions are all loving the tank.

I just wanted to share some Sunday morning happiness with everyone.

And I know some people will hate my decor but I have plenty of live plants and real wood in addition to the fake decor. I won’t be removing the fake decor and my plants are still fairly immature but I’m seeing a lot of growth from them.

Their little mouths opening and closing is just the absolute cutest thing ever 🥹🥹🥹

Are there any fish safe glues that won’t turn white once it’s cured?

This is purely for aesthetics because it looks not great.

I have 2 other pots and Anubias I need to do but I genuinely despise the way the glue looks. 😭

It took me 4 hours and a lot of stress but my Glofish tetra were moved to a 20 gallon long tank this evening. My feet are killing me, my back hurts, there is a mess I have to clean up, but the fish seem so much happier.

I moved all of my plants and decor, added a couple of new plants and use mermaid stone to separate the sand and the gravel.

We plan on adding a school of cory to the tank next weekend.

So I got glofish without doing much research but I’m glad I started researching when I got home or the poor things I got would have lived a not great life. Petco sold me a 5 gallon tank and told me I could fit up to 5 fish in it. We only got 3.

After all of the research I did, 48 hours later and the 3 we got are in a 10g tank but I don’t think we have enough decor. I do plan on getting 2 more of the tetra but based on my research I shouldn’t add any more for a couple more weeks.

I also am using safe start plus in this tank since the guy at petco gave me bagged water from the tanks they were in and told me I wouldn’t need any thing to kickstart the bacteria. The internet told me that was a lie. So the new tank was treated with aqua safe first and then I added the safe start in 30 minutes later.
