Wilier Garda 105 (2025) or Wilier Rapida 105 (2027)

I've finally narrowed down the options for my next purchase, but I might need some advice here.

For context: I picked up cycling in Australia and had a Cannondale Synapse 2. I'm now moving back to the Netherlands and decided not to ship the Synapse due to cost (I was able to sell it with only an A$200 loss). I'm now wanting to order a new road bike to use when I arrive in the Netherlands, and I've narrowed it down to the following options:

  1. Wilier Garda 105 (2025). I can buy this bike for €2599.

  2. Wilier Rapida 105 (2027). This one is a newly launched model and goes for €2899.

They seem similar in specs, with the Garda being their more endurance-oriented, comfortable option compared to the more aggressively oriented Rapida. The main difference I can find is that the Rapida can potentially take 36mm wide tires compared to the 32mm, making it a more all-around option if I decide to do some light gravel riding (forest roads and such).

Both are carbon frames, both have aluminum wheels, and the 105 mechanical groupset.

Is this worth the extra €300 for the increased tire clearance, or can I spend this money better on some new kit, an upgrade, or a bike computer?

PS. I've landed on the Wilier bikes based on their branding and looks. Happy to take suggestions if you feel there is much better value to be had in the market.

EDIT: I can spec the Garda with a powermeter for €299. Is that a worthy upgrade?
