I struggle a lot with self-confidence when it comes to writing and it’s probably because I’ve had my stuff torn apart several times by people of varying skill levels (published authors to amateurs etc).

I know I struggle with prose, sensory details, emotion, rhythm and flow, and figurative vivid language. The dream is to publish a book (for myself and a few friends) but I know they’ll be disappointed.

How do you stop yourself from comparing your work to other people better than you? How do you avoid getting depressed with your own work? I wrote my story from a place of great pain but I can’t help but think if someone else wrote it, it would be much better :(
