Basin trap in very limited space. Unless it's behind the wall!! I don't think one has been fitted. The vertical pipe goes out the rear wall which is not reachable. Welded pipe is 36mm O.D. Drawers in cabinet stop about 1 inch from vertical pipe which is about 1 inch from wall. How should I fix this? Is there a shower tray type trap I can use? Would that meet building regs (UK)?

I'm beginning to think my house was modified by Roger Bodger and his mate Chris Owboy.

I need to replace a couple of bleed valves. I keep seeing advice to fit them with plumbers tape but they have O rings. Do I really need to use tape as well? Surely an O ring seal is better than tape. I don't want to do this twice.
