Title: Getting threatening emails/calls from "Ruvixx" claiming to be Trimble's SketchUp license compliance partner — anyone else?
Small architecture setup here in India. On Aug 8 we got an email from trimble," claiming to be a "License Compliance Specialist" at a company called Ruvixx, saying they're an "authorized compliance partner" of Trimble. The email included a table of "Active MAC addresses" tied to our email domain, claiming unlicensed use of SketchUp going back almost 3 years, and demanded we buy 6 licenses to "settle" — even though i only have 2 laptop in the setup and never bought 6 licenses' worth of anything. i ignored all the email. todya she called on my number and said we used there software. I said we dont used it , some intern must have used in there laptop, she got more aggressive on the phone — said if we dont agree and buy she'd escalate to their "Legal & Compliance Team" and send a court notice, and that penalties/legal costs would be way higher than settling now.
Has anyone else gotten this exact email/call pattern? Did it ever go anywhere for you, or did it just stop once you ignored it? Also curious if anyone's actually seen a real court notice follow one of these up, or if it's always just threats.
