My managing partner and I had a first interview with this kid on Friday. Clean bowl cut, cheap suit, shoes straight off the Kohls discount rack. I listed the position for 95k. But I got the feeling he’d take less, so I asked how much he wanted. My managing partner kind of side-eyed me since we were just trying to get to know the kid but to my utter amazement this kid offered to work for us for 85k. We immediately accepted.

Now my managing partner thinks I’m some kind of hero. He’s even going to split the extra 10k with me.
