Yeah, I know. Most protagonists have luck, or what people call "plot armor". But that's not what I mean. I'm looking for a protagonist whose main ability (or greatest quality) is being lucky.
I have a quick question. What writing skills do you actually improve when you read? Prose? Novel structure? Worldbuilding? This question comes up because I've read tons of novels and books of every type, but my skills haven't gotten any better for a long time. I know you only really improve when you actually write, but that's not exactly what I'm referring to. Some people have a specific way of reading to truly get better at this craft. What do you do in that sense? How do you read?
