how to discipline a cat without being the bad guy???

okay so i need help because i have NO idea how to discipline a cat and mine is being a menace lately
i adopted my cat about 6 months ago from a shelter. she was an ANGEL the first few months but now she's literally jumping on the kitchen counters, knocking my water glass off my nightstand at 4am on PURPOSE, and she scratched my new couch yesterday and i almost cried
ive been googling how to discipline a cat and the answers are SO different like??? some sites say spray bottle, others say NEVER spray bottle because it ruins your bond, some say loud noises, some say just ignore bad behavior, my roommate said her mom used to flick her cats nose which sounds kinda mean
ive been trying to say "no" really firmly when she does stuff but she literally just stares at me and then does it again like 10 seconds later. yesterday she made eye contact with me while pushing my chapstick off the table i CANNOT
i dont wanna be mean to her or scare her because she's so sweet most of the time and she sleeps on my chest every night but also i cant keep buying new water glasses every week and my couch is RUINED
whats the actual right way on how to discipline a cat without traumatizing her or making her hate me??? like is there a method that actually works or do cats just do whatever they want forever lol

my phone has been blowing up with scam calls lately and yeah a lot of them sound like the same indian scammer script every time. im not trying to be rude its just the same pattern over and over and its driving me nuts. they call during dinner, while im putting the kids to bed, even got one at like 7am. i dont pick up unknown numbers anymore but they leave voicemails about urgent account issues or fake refunds. i blocked a bunch already. blocking doesnt seem to matter. new number every time, sometimes same area code as mine which makes it worse. i even turned on the phone spam filter but clearly its not catching everything.I dont get how they keep getting through and if theres actually a way to stop it or at least slow it down. any real fixes that work or do i just live with this now?

Our dog was prescribed enrofloxacin (Baytril) for a UTI and I'm having second thoughts after reading the medication insert. I do trust our vet, but the list of potential side effects is huge. Vet prescribed it because apparently it's used when other antibiotics don't work. Common side effects could be upset belly, seizures, depression, difficulty walking and even sensitivity to sunlight. Also, enrofloxacin shouldn't be used in young dogs because it can cause joint abnormalities during growth? Our dog is adult, but if it's that harmful to puppies, what else should I be worried about? The dosing is a bit weird too. The standard is 5mg per kg daily, but it can go up to 20mg/kg depending on the infection. That's a huge range! How do I know if we're getting the right dose? Also it says that it shouldn't be used in pregnant or nursing dogs, but that doesn't mean much when YOUR dog is the one potentially having a reaction.

Has anyone's dog taken enrofloxacin for dogs? Did you see any side effects? I'm particularly worried about the neurological ones, seizures from an antibiotic seems extreme. Should I ask for a different medication? The UTI needs treatment, but I don't want to cause bigger problems trying to fix this one.
