hi r/handbags! I would love to solicit your help in picking out a gift for my niece graduating middle school. No presents are expected but she has worked really hard this year and got into a great high school so I want to celebrate her for that.

I would love recommendations of bags or wallets that will make her feel cool, grown up, but not actually make her look like she’s carrying her mom’s purse lol.

budget is about 100-300.

about her: she is 14, very into sports, very into nails and hair, tall and blond and just the sweetest 🥰 we are in Chicago. she normally wears athleisure, a lot of sweatshirts and sweat pants and tank tops.

I kind of want something basic, like I want her to feel proud when she wears it, and I’d like it to be recognizable by her peers so that it feels special, not a deep cut if that makes sense. I lean toward those small shoulder bag silhouettes but I’m open.
