Jelly Firkin

Recently I saw that "Jelly Firkins" have started gaining some popularity. Even one of my friends has purchased it, but I keep having mixed feelings about it. I kinda dislike the idea of it being a copy of Birkin, but yet it still looks cute.

I like the look, but still mixed feelings about the inauthentic design. What are your thoughts?

it may not be designer, but I got my first ever actual handbag! I thought it was time to upgrade my essanger bag

the brand is Patricia Nash! I got it from TJ Maxx. I really really really love it, I make fantasy world maps as a hobby so I thought the pattern was really cute! I feel like a big girl now haha

And I do still love my canvas bag, it fits my huge water bottle and I still plan on using it for hikes. Unfortunately I wore it so much that one of the magnet buttons broke and I don't want to bring it on the metro anymore.

Dooney and Bourke: thoughts on the brand?

My mother wore a lot of D&B bags when I was growing up so I got to thinking of it as an “old lady” brand.

The more I see on their website, the more I like certain non-typical styles. I’ll admit, the price point worries me. Do these bags hold up or are they cheaply made?

My mother loved them in the 80s and 90s but I’ve heard they’ve changed a lot in their quality? Is that true?

What is your opinion on this brand in general?

To the bag I couldn’t afford in 2021, I’ll never stop searching for you.

In Fall 2021, my entire life was in limbo; I worked part time and had recently moved back in with my parents due to the pandemic delaying my plans to move across the world.

I went and visited my friends in NYC. In our many adventures, we stopped into an Acne Studios outlet. I’d never heard of Acne Studios before this and none of us could afford a single thing in there.

On our way out, I saw THE bag I’ve never stopped thinking about since: a dusty mauve, suede Acne Studios Mini Musubi bag. It was marked down to $600 and I left knowing there was no way in the world it would happen but that I would never stop thinking about it.

5 years later, my life has stabilized, I just got a promotion, and I’m a homeowner. I cannot stop thinking about this bag and it is nowhere to be found.

This is my shot into the big dark sky: if you have this bag and don’t reach for it, happen upon it in the world, or see it online… I hope you think of me!

She belongs with me! 🗣️ I will find her one day! It’s better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all!

Help me choose!

I am trying to choose between these three bags which I can get for roughly the same cost due to a sale on. I am looking for a smaller bag that would work for meals out, date nights or day events but that is not too showy. I really love Loewe (have the flamenco and original puzzle), love their styles and leather but also heard amazing things on BV. Welcome any advice especially if you have these bags. Thanks all!!

Building my first intentional handbag collection in my 30s, where would you start?

Early 30s mom here looking to slowly build a beautiful, timeless handbag collection.
I’ve outgrown Coach, Tory Burch, etc and want to stay under the $1k mark for now before eventually moving into brands like Celine, Bottega and Loewe.
I love understated, Parisian inspired bags that feel elegant but still work for everyday life and mom life.
If you were building a collection from scratch, what would you consider the must-have:
colors
sizes
shapes/styles
And which brands or bags would be at the top of your list?
Thanks in advance :)

Finally able to buy the dream bag years later 💼

Is it just me, or is there something incredibly satisfying about having a handbag crush for years and finally reaching the point where you can actually buy it?

For me, it was the Proenza Schouler PS1 that I've dreamed about it ever since it first came out, along with the Mulberry Alexa and the Chloé Faye. Back then I was a student, so all I could do was admire them in fashion magazines and on blogs.

Now I'm finally a grown-up with a full-time job, and I've allowed myself to spend money on making some of those dream bags a reality. And OMG... it feels soooooo good. 🥳 Now I have all three in my closet (preloved), and was able to find them all in pristine condition 💃🏼

Anyone else who can relate? What item did you dream about for years before finally buying it guilt-free?

Radley canteen bag SS26

I love canteen shapes and novelty bags but they’re hard to find in my price range. Radley’s (very sad) liquidation sale has this Lunar New Year canteen with a leather horse charm and leather jasmine flowers. It’s soooo gorgeous in person! Well crafted, soft pebbled stamped leather, practical size and charming!

This is just my appreciation post for the crafters and the creative niche. (Once a horse girl, always a horse girl).

Celine Yellow Drummed Calfskin Leather Mini Luggage Tote Bag

I have been talking about getting a vintage Céline Luggage Tote for years ,ad nauseam to the point that my husband knows all about the different models, sizes, years of production and Phoebe Philo vs other Céline head designers. I had a black one that I sold and it was instantly a deep regret even if I got a good price for it. I thought it was too heavy and it sat in my closet too much .
Now I have own a Hermès Black Togo PHW B35 for years and it is heavier than the Céline Mini Luggage so I became obsessed with getting another Luggage , Phantom or Nano in an excellent condition for a fair price.
Authenticity guaranteed as well.

My husband got tired of all the reasons why I didn’t pull the trigger and made a deal with me :
He will buy me one if he could pick the color . I told him to look on Yoogi’s Closet website for one . He did and ordered this yellow one , amazing vintage condition, just a tiny mark on the front handle , I can put twillies on the handles if needed . Interior is very clean , the only problem is that the bag smelled a bit of floral perfume.
I have put charcoal bags in and I have conditioned the bag with Cadillac lotion as it was a bit thirsty.

Price was more than fair , actually lower than my initial budget . $700 plus taxes, free shipping.
Shipped with care and original dust bag included.

I am so happy with it. I only have one mustard yellow vintage Chloe bag in my extensive handbag collection so this bright yellow is perfect.
Unfortunately I now want to get a Nano one as well as the strap is very practical. This is a slippery slope, friends:)
I am bringing this beauty when I go to Paris soon , perfect size to fly with .
Now I understand if other people hate/ dislike it but I never cared about people’s opinions about my fashion choices.
This is my World Cup prize , as a French born it is Les Bleus bag :) I genuinely love my husband, 20 years later , the best decision I’ve ever made was to follow my heart and start a relationship with him. Handbag or not , this man is my most precious gift in this journey called Life .

I think I’m at purse peace now.

After acquiring this Versace bag I’d been searching for, I think I’m finally there!

Vintage Chanel, Mini Rodeo…

I think this may seem like a silly comparison but I would love all of your expert and handbag enthusiast thoughts! The one handbag missing from my collection is an evening bag—one large enough to hold my phone and other evening essentials, but small enough to be easy to carry. I also want something that can transition from day to night, like if I’m walking around the city and only have a few things to carry, but that I can also easily dress up. I have someone that can source a Series 0 straight flap for me (around $4500), and I equally love the Balenciaga mini Rodeo. Thoughts on these 2 beauties?

Kipling art mini tote

Does anyone have one? I’m curious if the dual handles are long enough to wear on the shoulder. I’m frustrated when they are not. I can’t stand a crossbody strap on my shoulder.

If not though, does anyone have any recs on a similar size and shape bag?

My dream bag

I love my Songmont Gather Bags and this medium Ebony one is my newest - so practical and wonderful. Makes me feel like a million dollars and I know there are people here who’ll understand! Shoulder, crossbody, everyday, glamorous, dress up or down, shopping trip, day trip, mama bag… I’m on a day trip today with my beach shirt pulled through the magic back pocket, and I’ve hung my daughter’s sunglasses, a handkerchief, and some Songmont charms on it. Love it so much

A gorgeous work bag

Like many of us, I identify as a ludicrously capacious bag lady. I have just moved to Australia and am looking for a work bag. Something big enough for a 14 inch laptop, ideally black or maybe burgundy. Leather preferred. I like structured bags and something that closes so I don’t knock it over and lose things. I have a couple of Demellier and strathberry bags so looking for something different. to be available in Australia, bonus points if it’s under $1500AUD.

Suggest me your faves?
