Compression

how did you get diagnosed with compression syndrome (I live in the US). did you go to your pcp and if so who did you get a referral to see or what tests did they order that showed it?

I had an abdominal ct at the hospital which showed I had a circumaortic left renal vein but didn’t say anything about compression. I developed POTS symptoms two days after I had my baby (heart rate >30 when standing, dizziness, sob). it’s been months and although the cardiologist started me on propranolol saying it sounds like pots I feel like I want to investigate if it is really pots or something else.

I gained about 25 lbs when I was pregnant, had varicose veins in vag/pelvis which I didn’t get with my first pregnancy. they did go away a few days after delivery but my pelvic pain hasn’t gone away. initially I thought it was soreness but it’s been months. it’s worse in the morning and when getting up after sitting and my feet have pins and needles feelings every morning but resolves when I walk for a bit.

when I asked my cardiologist about the possibility of compression syndrome she kinda blew me off and said to talk to my obgyn and see what she thinks. her office is a heart and vascular center so I thought maybe they could investigate it for me. I have another appt with them soon so trying to see what else I should do or ask for. Like everyone else, I just want to get better for my kiddos and for myself. I feel like I’ve been robbed of this post partum period and it’s my last baby. Mentally I was in a very bad place the first three months postpartum not being able to take care of my kids, propranolol has helped some but my blood pressure only allows me to take it 1 time a day sometimes 2 and my dose is 5mg. My meds are limited due to nursing.

thanks for the suggestions!
