If Vijay and TVK are lucky, they may actually be better off not forming the government in this election.

Right now, they have momentum, public attention, and the freedom to promise change. But governing Tamil Nadu is a completely different challenge. The amount of money required to sustain large-scale freebies and welfare promises is enormous, especially with the state already under financial pressure.

If they come to power too early without a strong financial and administrative foundation, the same promises that helped them win support could later become their biggest weakness.

A strong opposition role might actually help Vijay more in the long run. It gives him time to build political experience, strengthen the party structure, question the ruling government, and grow credibility without carrying the burden of immediate governance failures.

Then in the next election, he can return with stronger ground support, more political maturity, and possibly an even bigger mandate.
