Polygon siksiu d6 questions

I am looking to get more into mountain biking, primarily on mountain roads/trails. I currently have a well used cannondale prophet lefty. It's a decent bike, but is a small frame size when I need a large or extra large. I have been looking at polygon bikes primarily, mainly their d series. I would love to have a t7, but 2k USD(including delivery) is a bit high for me. I was looking at the d6 since it would be more like 1100 delivered to my door. I am not very experienced in mountain biking, but have a lot of experience riding dirt bikes. I just want to put my foot in the door to see if I will like it enough to continue. All of my usage will be on gravel/dirt roads and a lot of trails. Trails in my area tend to be rocky, which in my limited experience leads me towards full suspension. I have tried a hardtail, but the vibrations and bouncing wasn't fun.

My question is: Is the polygon siskiu d6 going to be a good bike for me? A good bit of road riding, some rocky trail riding, little to no jumping.

All my research just leads to people constantly suggesting a higher end bike no matter what bike you are looking at. I don't need the best bike ever, I just want to be able to get out and enjoy some trails. I also have a fairly tight budget, I don't want to spend over 2k to find out I won't use it often enough.

USFS land riding

Does anyone know the laws/rules regarding non-motorized bike usage on forest service land? I know an area in Montana with a ton of old fire/logging roads that I want to ride. They are unmarked, which means no motorized use for sure. It would basically be treated as being off-trail riding, or forest-gliding as I call it. Is this legal to do on a normal mtb?
