MGT2 Task 3 - How I passed in one try

Feel like this task is not as hard as people are making it out to be. If you look at the requirements in the rubric, course materials, and task assignment, there are little nuances in each. Here is what I did to pass it on the first try.

Have all the templates, examples, and study material in a folder.

Do the task a section at a time. 1^(st) section, 2^(nd) section, 3^(rd) section, filling out the master template as you go along. Save one as the master template.

GO THROUGH THE EXAMPLE THOROUGHLY

1.    Watch a couple of the different youtube review videos. I found a lot of my notes below from them.

2.      Use the task descriptions, course material, task requirements, and the rubric to figure out what is required for the task. Put it all together in a notes page. I then took those notes and ran it through AI to find differences and made sure I did every part listed in all areas.

3.      Download Project Libre, play with it, and get familiar. See how to indent and outdent data in chart, before I built my chart.

4.  Watch the supplied gantt chart video, pay close attention to everything that is said in that video. Then when you work on your chart, watch it while you work on your chart. Trust the numbers they have you put in. They may seem off, but follow the instructions to a T.

5.      Don’t copy and paste anything into projectlibre.

6.      When you get done inputting the data into libre, go to file, information, statistics, and see how long project is scheduled to take, use that number cause you’ll need it later.

7.      Watch the video again, check it against the work you did. And then move on

8.      Part 3 – Watch the metrics calculation demo and pay close attention. Download the formula chart (I had to email and ask the instructors for it because the link was wrong) and have it open when you work on your analysis, then watch the calculations demo again and work along with it while you work on your spreadsheet. Watch it until the VERY END.

9.      Part 4 – Watch the video and treat it the same way you did the others. Watch it first, then watch it again while you work through yours

10.      Play around with the line charts in excel, there’s editing that you need to do with this chart, that is necessary that they don’t instruct you on how to do.

  1. Asked to discuss the findings of the chart, you can use the example template to know how to format the answer. It has to match the data that’s in the chart.
