Career Gap Issues.
A friend of mine did computer science engineering in 2009 but did not do the IT industry at that time.
She pursued career in Teaching in initial years and pursued her M tech by 2014.
She got married in 2012 and later moved to USA with husband.
She came back to India in 2019 and tried to pursue career again.
Many colleges in Pune did not accept the profile.
Finally started a career in the IT industry in 2021 with a very very small company with no salary. Worked for one year in that company. Learn basics.
Moved to Chandigarh and got a chance in a proper company contractual basis. Going good. Made 2 years exp.
Later moved to Delhi/ncr and working in a small IT company remotely for 3 years.
Now total IT experience is around 5 years and applying jobs. I know the market is bad.
But HR who are still calling- showing surprise on age , experience , why career Gap, we will get back to you blah blah.
Why do we have this non sense ? She had to put huge huge efforts to reach this level. Worked without salary also. And companies are still talking about a genuine gap.
What should be done so that at least companies take an interview rather than doing all this nonsense?
