Dual purpose Reaper for live setup

Hello all! We are looking to add Reaper to our live FOH/Broadcast setup for two purposes and was wondering if those two use cases can cohabitate, or need separate machines.

First is multitracking ~64 ch over Dante.
Second is running real time plugins as a poor man’s waves. Definitely a mastering stack on broadcast output, maybe a couple instances of defeedback or clearvoice or some other equivalent, ideally with potential for some future expansion as we want or need.

Running on a Mac mini m1, obviously capable of one or the other with respective settings. My concern is usually I’d set a high latency for tracking that many channels, where as obviously the live stuff can’t have that.

Do I need multiple computers, one tracking at high latency and one running the low latency realtime stuff? Or is there some way for these to coexist?

XLR Soldering trick

Have a project where I’m soldering a lot of xlr connectors (mostly m). After the headache of skewing one of the pins I fixed it using my f turnaround, then had the thought “why don’t I put them on here to solder in the first place?? So since then I have clamped down my f turnaround (a cheap one I don’t particularly care about) and stuck all my male connectors in there to solder. Works like a charm, nearly doubled my speed, and far fewer mistakes!! Am I the only dumb one who’s never thought of this, or am I missing an obvious reason why not to do this?

Avantis slxd+ inconsistency

Hello all! Upgraded our avantis to 2.01 a little over a week ago, and all has been great and functioning as advertised except connection to our slxd+ units. The avantis initially found them as expected, but then when we shut down for the night and came back the console remembered the devices but could not detect them on the network. We are occasionally able to get them to reconnect through various and inconsistent orders or power cycling different elements during testing, but every time we get them connected the next power cycle looses it.

They are running with their ports in switched mode so Dante and control both flow into our network, as well as Avantis has Dante card with network bridge enabled, and all other network traffic including Dante from the slxds is getting to the avantis just fine. Other network devices (wwb on mac) can also detect and work with the slxds just fine. I know I am lacking details here and will submit a full log file and such to A&H support if needed, but wanted to see if this was a common experience and perhaps sanity check myself here first. Is this common/ am I doing something obviously wrong? Thanks!
