Glazed brakes

Let a friend drive, couple turns needed quite hard braking. Windows down started smelling smoky smell, next two braking periods were about 20 seconds apart.
After the third braking period and smell not going away we stop, smoke coming from brake pads, looked like fog and seen with flashlight.
Next 10 min drive 30kph average with 0 brakes used. Then 10mins 60-100kph with minimal brake usage. Then another 10mins easy drive and then tried hard brake my when breaks were fully cooled and bite was minimally but noticeably weaker than that of the mornings test (yes in the morning i tested out how hard the bite point is on the brakes)
Let me know what i should do next, waiting for the brakes to be cool to the touch so i can run my fingers through
Ps braking still obv works just a bit more mushy then before and you gotta press the pedal in further
