For the life of me I can't seem to make the midas mr-18 work through cakewalk sonar

I got it connected to my PC with the usb, and I can see the signal arriving to the track and going through the bus A, problem is I cant hear anything and it doesn't seem to be recording anything, also I don't know which output is the output for the phone out (the one with the knob), is it the "out 1+2?"

Do i really need a headphone amp for the midas mr-18

So we want for studio recording and live perfomance, we are 3 members and i have seen conflicting accounts that it has a built amp(?) And i can connect headphones straight to the 6 xlr outputs, and have different mixes/bus for each headphone, but i have also read that i need a personal headphone amp for each output (if i want different outputs) and same if i want to connect a wireless transmitter to 3 recievers (so i would have 3 transmitters) and headphone amps with 4 outputs also don't have personal mixes? Im having trouble undestanding
