Pondering next steps
The columns on our (Eastown) porch have become annual nesting spots for area birds. These are apparently House Sparrows. (Correct me if I'm wrong.) There were five, now there are three. We've also got a loud family of birds on the west column, but they've got cover from the overhang so we can't see them most of the time.
This year's occupants in the pictured nest added some "decorations" you can see at the top of the nest: small, white, circular objects of yet-unknown origin, ha. We expect these little guys to make the leap sometime this week, they have been pondering it since the weekend. An existential birdie crisis about leaving the nest, or something...
