What’s a realistic HDB Reno cost for 2025/2026?
Trying to better understand the market price here, and at what point is it overpriced for reno and furnishings/appliances. My friends spent $80-100k for reno only (add another $20k for furnishings/appliances) for a 4rm BTO. I also saw quite a few reno videos with cool carpentry but I’m not sure if they’re representative of what majority of the Singaporeans spend on.
For some context, we renovated a 93sqm 4-rm resale, abt 10 years old. Our reno cost is $30k, inclusive of electrical, supplying of lights and KDK fans, plumbing, supply of toilet bowl/zuhne sink/vanity cabinet/taps, vinyl flooring, paint, wallpaper, Mitsubishi aircon, new gate, digital lock, 2 bathroom doors, new service yard door, and service yard windows. We only did carpentry for the kitchen. Can’t rlly do much carpentry in the house cuz I’m allergic to formaldehyde. We didn’t do any hacking.
Our furnishings/appliances cost us another $20k.
Appliances: 10.5kg front loader washing machine, 10kg heat pump dryer, tabletop dishwasher, Dreame X30 robot vacuum, 65” Samsung The Frame TV, Oven, microwave, Ninja multipurpose cooker, kettle, toaster, Samsung 655L fridge.
Furniture: 1.5m Sintered stone dining table, 4 chairs, 2 electronic standing tables, Steelcase office chairs, full leather sofa, TV console, side table (we didn’t get a coffee table), 6 sets of tailored S-fold curtains + rails, 2.8 wardrobe, king size bed frame + mattress, bedside tables, bookshelves/cabinets, shoe cabinets.
How much does your reno cost? And what’s the typical amount to spend for reno?
