The Glorg Trail is real!
I submitted this teaser video in today’s Media Share and Wubby and chat questioned if the game was real, so I wanted to provide some more information!
This game is real and not a mod, it’s 100% custom scripted and has pretty much become my special interest for the last nearly 4 months. I got the idea for it while watching Wubby’s first Oregon Trail II stream and pretty much immediately started working on it. I set out to create an Oregon Trail-like game that’s full of PMW extended universe lore and stream memes that takes place along the journey from San Diego to Portland.
I didn’t want this game to just be a low quality shitpost so I’m taking time (probably too much time) to make an actual game with replay value and proper mechanics for things like traffic, hunger, morale, random events, etc. Currently I have just over 80 different random and scripted in-game events implemented, though I have a lengthy list of events I still need to create and this number will likely be well over 100+ by the time the game is finished.
At this point I’ve got the bulk of the game’s systems implemented and I’m hoping that within the next month or two I could open up a limited playtest for getting it ready for release. It will be available for free when released.
I don’t want to spoil too much but I’ll include some additional info:
•A dozen different crew members, each with different stats, abilities, unique events, and interactions with other crew members.
•Complete item/inventory/shop systems with many foods, items (and drugs) being recognizable from stream.
•10+ different custom slot machines and casino games.
•Geographically accurate stores, fast food, weather, and traffic conditions.
•Easter eggs, hidden events, and secret items.
•and much more that I’m excited to share in the future!
Also, no generative AI has been used or will be used in this game. All of the assets and code have been made by hand with love, just as our forefathers intended.
The initial response of the teaser from Wubby and chat was very warm so I just want to thank you all for that <3
I’m interested in what other WubCubs (and WubBees) think of this idea for a game. I’m open to all feedback, criticism, and ideas :)
