Rewatching Scrubs as a 26 Year Old (spoilers)

Scrubs is my FAVORITE show. It brings me a lot of comfort. I have rewatched it every year since 2012. Some years, more than once. Anyway, every time I watch it I have a new perspective.

As a teenager I thought it was silly and goofy (I still think this). And I definitely looked up to Carla & Turk’s relationship and shipped Elliott & JD. But as an adult, I have started to pick the men’s behavior apart. The way they treat the women in the show irks me.

Watching it when I was 24, I had just gotten out of a bad breakup and it brought me comfort. Watching it when I was 25 was fun because I started dating and I felt like I really related to the characters. Watching it now, 26, I am in a healthy relationship, and I just jeep noticing how shitty the men in the show are.

Turk is a horrible spouse. His shitty vows (he ended up saying something sweet but after he majorly fucked up). He was rude as hell to her mom & brother. He was late to his own wedding??? Carla’s dream was to have a big beautiful wedding and he couldn’t even take the day off to make sure he was on time. BRUH. And he over sexualizes women and checks them out right in front of Carla. And when he doesn’t tell his ex he’s married. These are all deal breakers dude. Like that is not how you should treat your significant other.

And don’t get me started on JD with Elliott. Elliott had her faults, and when she ended it with Sean to be with JD….And JD turns around and is like teehee never mind!!! BRUHHH. No wonder they ended up divorced lol! I think Sean is the only good man in the show lmfao.

I love JD & Turk’s friendship though I think it’s so sweet. I have friends like this in my life.

& btw, I still love the show so much, it cracks me up!! It brings me a lot of comfort but I just had to rant to see if anyone else felt the same! And I’ve been enjoying the reboot too!! :)
