When I see other videographers builds I always see their monitors mounted to a handle, I’ve never particularly been a fan of a top handle, it’s just not for me. But my question is are people avoiding their camera hot shoe for a specific reason? Like too much weight + a bad angle = damaging the hot shoe. Isn’t it true, that a top handle plus monitor adds more weight. Im just trying to avoid an expensive mistake. I’m using the shinobi II with the battery, it’s not that heavy.
