For decades, Russian propaganda has invested heavily in shaping the image of the USSR as an uncompromising fighter against Nazism. However, it always omits a key fact, that prior to 1941— the year Germany invaded the USSR — the Soviet stance toward Germany was fundamentally different from what is commonly presented.
