Tantura -- a film about the 1947 Nakba in Palestine (2022) [1:34:41]

In the late 1990s, Israeli scholar Teddy Katz began researching the massacre of Palestinians that allegedly occurred in the seaside village of Tantura in 1948. Although attacked and discredited by fellow Israelis, Katz’s research endures in this intense and provocative documentary. Tantura investigates Katz’s research and includes interviews with elderly Israeli ex-soldiers and Palestinian residents to uncover what happened and the enormous efforts to keep that information buried. Winner of the Best Research Award at the 2022 Docaviv Film Festival. In Hebrew with English subtitles. (95 mins., DCP)

I filmed a local woman's story of survival, abuse, addiction and homelessness.

Last January I put up a post on Craigslist looking for people who wanted to share their story on camera. A woman responded.

A few days later I showed up with my camera and we filmed for roughly four hours over two days. I had no idea what I was walking into. She opened up about everything: growing up on Long Island, moving to Shell Beach, two abusive relationships, homelessness in New York, drug addiction, and two pregnancies that changed the course of her life.

This story happened largely in and around the Central Coast.

Would love to do more stories of all sorts. If you know someone who might be interesting send me a message!

CDT documentary of 2025 class

7 years ago I hiked the Pacific Crest Trail and this had been one of the experiences I had enjoyed most in life. When I came back and returned to a "normal" life full of screens, I promised myself I would go back on a 5 month journey through the wild at one point. I am a nerd and I enjoy the "screen" but I also like wild spaces and simple pleasures. As everything in life, I believe there needs to be a balance.

7 years later, here I am, in the company of "Green pea" this time. We both quit our jobs in Nairobi, Kenya and packed a bag to a country where I had such fond memories of its nature and its people despite what can be seen in the news nowadays.

This is the story of our 150+ day journey through the most beautiful and brutal wilderness in the USA—from the desert of New Mexico, through the jagged peaks of Colorado, the wild nature of Wyoming and the grizzlies of Montana to finally reach Canada.

I am not sponsored and I don't monetize this video but if you like it, I'd be happy to get a thumbs up or a share 😄

Happy trails !
