RIP what cpy williamsburg used to be
i used to feel like the corepower in williamsburg had way more of a community feel and even since that’s changed over the last few years at least i could rely on the teachers having creative, thoughtful classes. BOY OH BOY has it all changed.
The mats hanging in the sculpt room has caused the nastiest stench in the entire studio. they don’t have time to ever dry because the room is so, so humid it’s a matter of time before a ring worm infestation (again…)
separately, i went to one of my favorite teachers classes tonight and when i came in a manager (i think? haven’t seen her before) was laying it on THICK to the teacher that it was company policy that she HAD to do a cardio sequence. Keep in mind this locations AC is broken AND there is a heatwave so even if you open the door 0 cold air comes in.
Of course I’m going to get comments that this is the starbucks of yoga, and i get it, but i’ve never seen it more blatantly than I did tonight. between the “refresh” that has now made the studio nastier (disgusting mats left to mildew the room), and policy (cardio?) before students safety (fix the ac…) it’s just such a bummer. Now i understand why the good teachers leave, if someone talked to me like that while my next class was coming in I would quit on the spot. idk why they don’t understand how few good teachers are left? 😭😭😭 don’t push them out!
