What is a SET member?
I saw a paper at my studio saying I can join as a SET member but it didn’t say anything else about it

I love HPF and try to go at least 2x/week. I’ve been going to hot yoga class on and off for the past 20 years. It cathartic and it’s just my absolute favorite way to work out now that my joints can’t handle long runs anymore.
Unfortunately, I have orthostaic low blood pressure and it’s begun to interfere with my ability to do the class. Yesterday was the worst I’ve experienced. I felt faint, lost my vision momentarily and had to go into a restorative pose instead of flowing breath to movement and going through the warrior poses. I always keep a bend in my knees and take care when I rise from sitting but this happened anyway. I took my BP at night and it was 93/55 and that was well after i had gone about my day and had dinner, etc. I’m sure it was much lower in class.
Normally I go to a morning class and don’t eat before but since this started happening more I’ve made it a point to eat and hydrate before class. In general I drink a lot of water.
I did try those hydration sticks, several brands, but they are disgusting and I simply can’t choke them down. (I don’t like soda or flavored drinks in general)
Is there something else I can try to help this issue?
ETA:
My dr wasn’t concerned and just suggested I do unheated yoga. All blood work is normal. No vitamin deficiencies or anemia.
I’ve been going to corepower for a couple of years now and I really love it! I usually go to the 5:30-6am classes ~3x week and don’t have any friends that ever want to go that early so I’m usually alone and keep to myself. I’ve only ever had a handful of people say words to me at the studio. It’s also 5:30am so talking is hard.
I was sick & out of town the last two weeks so I haven’t been to class for a minute and PMSing and feeling really bloated and weak. Definitely not feeling the most confident. But then the girl next to me after class this morning looked over at me and said “omg you are so strong! I kept watching you go like how is she doing this?? It was really fun working out next to you.” And maybe it’s just those monthly hormones but I literally almost cried, it made my day! I’m definitely not the strongest looking girly in class, but I’m really proud of how my body has changed since I’ve started at corepower and my love for myself & my body grows each practice.
If you’re ever thinking about complimenting someone at the studio this is your reminder to do it. Those little things go a long way. And if you’re wondering if it’s worth it to stay consistent, it 1000% is 💕
I often go to classes at 1:30 or 3pm on weekdays. the sculpt classes are always packed and I often wonder what everyone else there is doing for work that makes them available at those times
I’m a mental health therapist that can make my own schedule so I know what I’m doing there lol but I was curious about others. I live in charlotte so I also know there’s some college students from UNCC that come to classes but it seems like the main demographic are mid 20s+
Hey hey! I’m seriously considering ditching ClassPass and getting a corepower membership. So far I’ve only been to a couple C1, C1.5 and C2 classes, but I’m also interested in CSX, sculpt and corerestore. There are several locations near me, and I would potentially be interested in taking back to back/2 classes in the evening. Does anyone take a sculpt or CSX class and then a C2 or CoreRestore class to “cool down”? TIA!
Hi all. I (30f) started running earlier this year. I work remotely & I'm working on my dissertation, so I'm at my desk 10+ hours most days & needed something to get me moving.
I used to do a lot of yoga, but running is what's helped me decompress after work & lose most of the weight I'd been carrying the past two years (lost 18lb so far!). I'm up to 3-4 miles most days now, but started getting bored with it. I started going to C2 recently & I can tell my joints really need it. I really enjoy it, but I'm trying to figure out the best way to run & do a C2 class the same day.
Yesterday I tried to run last night after C2 & got dizzy half a mile in, so I stopped. It's been really hot here in NC & I think I just didn't hydrate enough between the two? I did have a small meal in between.
For those who do both, I'd love to hear what works. Do you run before or after C2, & how much time do you leave in between? Do you pair a short run + C2 instead of a long run? I'm also curious what people eat between sessions, if anything, & how you handle hydration & electrolytes given how hot C2 gets!
Just trying to find something that doesn't leave me burnt out or dizzy. If you think its not possible or a bad idea, would totally love to know that too! Thanks!
hii chicago people- apologies for this long post. i’m trying to decide between corepower and studio three and wanted opinions from people who’ve done both.
i did corepower religiously on the east coast for about 2 years and loved the sculpt classes. i honestly feel like they’re a better workout for me personally because i like the fast-paced style with lighter weights/cardio mixed in. i usually leave feeling amazing.
BUT… one thing that always bothered me was the cleanliness/crowding. the studios i went to were constantly packed, smelled sweaty, and i never saw equipment or floors being cleaned. locker rooms and the studio floors were disgusting and people were piled on top of eachother in the classes.
since moving to chicago i’ve been going to studio three and the studios are SO nice. every location feels super clean, spacious, and well maintained, and i literally see employees wiping equipment down every time. i also love the variety of classes.
my issue is i’m not sure i love the workouts as much. i’ve done about 14 classes now (hi-def, 3x3, hot mat pilates, power flow) and i feel like a lot of the harder classes lean more toward heavy strength training, which i personally don’t enjoy as much. i miss the more high-energy sculpt style workouts. and i don’t get as much out of hot mat pilates as i did cp sculpt.
for people who’ve tried both in chicago:
what are your thoughts on the chicago CPY studios in terms of crowds/cleanliness?
do you feel like studio three gets better/more challenging over time?
which membership ended up being more worth it for you?
right now i feel torn because:
corepower:
cheaper
more fun classes
feels like a harder workout for me
but crowded/less clean which gives me bad anxiety
studio three:
super clean + spacious
better amenities/vibe
more class variety
but not loving the workout style as much
curious what other people think!! also thanks for reading lol
hi! wondering if this is normal and how most auditions go .. we were given the audition playlist ahead of time. I practiced everything to the audition playlist to make sure i would be on beat etc.
Today we auditioned and the songs were not from the playlist we were given, they were not at all aligned with the sections, and the “judge” was just pressing random shuffle on her playlist for each auditioned.
It honestly did not screw me up too bad because the song I had still had a beat but some girls were having to teach up beat parts (cardio /sculpt) to low beat songs (eg the shavasana song it was insane) & we did flows to the integration song. I could tell it threw everybody off … is this typical for CP YS auditions?
Basically the title. My wife is a full member, which I understand means she should be able to sign up for classes 2 weeks ahead of when the class is to be held; i.e., you are supposed to be able to sign up for a 10 am Saturday class beginning at 10 am on Saturday two weeks prior.
This hasn’t been the case. Instead, my wife (using both the website and app) can only sign up for classes 13 days in advance; Saturday classes don’t appear on the app for her until the Sunday two weeks prior (at which point they are, of course, full). Likewise, for instance, all early Sunday morning classes (it’s 8:30 am CT as I type this aren’t visible to her on the app either).
Would appreciate hearing from anyone who’s experience this issue and what they’ve done to resolve it.
so i am a student and am tight on budget been 3 months since i started going to the gym thought finally its time to buy some supplements for the first time btw\* which may help this yogabar plant protien was recommended and was matching my requirements and is in budget per serving they provide around 25g+ protein so i looked into reddit ( obviously ) researched about it for a while every one kept on saying thats its nice and stuff the only downside is its undrinkable like not one i saw around 100s of comments like these and i thought who tf cares about taste if its giving you 25g+ protien in budget and there are no side effects ( i hope ) so basically the only downside was the taste so I thought about giving it a try and ordered it yesterday today it arrived and OH GOD WHAT THE FUCK IS THIS IT TASTES SHITTT if you are thinking that you dont gaf about taste trust me you will have to not saying I will quit drinking it or stuff just saying i used to drink safi if you guys know what it is and eat neem ke patte to get a better skin so i thought i can put anything in my mouth without caring about how it tastes but yeah it sucks totally if you are going for it just know ITS BAD will still continue tho
Teachers are going to get super defensive about this, but it’s a message that hopefully corporate will see. I have done 153 sculpt classes in the past two years. It is super frustrating to never know what you’re going to get. Not only does it vary tremendously in difficulty level, but some classes skip entire muscle groups/sections of the body. Some classes jump from pose to pose so quickly half the class has horrible form. Half the classes are so hot I’ve watched multiple people walk out mid class.
Where is the consistency? Most of the classes at the THREE studios I go to have so many subs you can’t even track the teachers you like to take their classes regularly. Last week I took a class that was so boring and easy it was like the start of a C2 for 25 minutes and I left feeling like I barely worked hard. The following day I could barely breathe. It’s super frustrating to pay for classes without at least a guarantee you will get a full body workout.
Has anyone done an inversion workshop at CPY? One of my studios has one coming up but has no additional information and I haven’t seen the teachers in order to ask some questions. Mainly wondering how geared to beginners it is - I can’t do head or handstands but want to learn but also don’t want to be way out of my depth in an advanced class. Thanks!
In a few weeks I will be starting my journey in becoming a yoga teacher!! for those who have completed their 200hrs with corepower, what can I can expect and is there any way i can prepare in advance?
Auditioning this weekend in New York market and wanted to get tips/advice from anyone willing to share. I know a lot of people say that the NYC market is much tougher to pass so would love some insight into that as well
I was a member for 6 months with ~130 classes under my belt and have made the decision to leave Corepower. I started with going to C2 classes then very quickly fell in love with sculpt and CSX. While I had practiced some yoga prior to Corepower, I practiced more regularly with the membership and noticed great improvements for myself within the first 3 months there.
So why am I leaving? I think I reached the point where I no longer want the structure of a workout class. I frequently found myself in sculpt enjoying certain parts of the workout more than others and wishing we could spend more time doing that workout than moving on to another section... which translates into me looking for a gym membership. BUT what I realized about the class structure of Corepower is that its very unorganized and there is a simple solution, I believe, could be implemented to make it better for members.
My home studio was Philly (Walnut St) and they have fantastic teachers and have always made me feel welcomed. The one thing I noticed about the schedule when I first started was that it was sculpt heavy, which from reading posts in this community is a common theme across many locations. I think if the schedule is going to be sculpt heavy they should have designated areas of focus, building the week like a split and allows people to choose classes with more confidence. For example: Monday - arms, Tuesday - core, Wednesday - cardio , Friday - balance, Saturday - yoga, and Sunday - glutes.
I am NOT saying they should only focus on these areas but make it more prominent these days. Teachers are already doing this because they themselves favor certain areas. I once took a CSX glutes core class then the following day went to a sculpt class where the instructor had built into 2 sessions of squats and 1 session of belly down glutes, it was beyond overload! And I think it could be avoided with some simple additional structure and transparency.
Not only will this prevent overload on students who want to take multiple classes a week but it also allows people to focus on certain areas more than others if they want.
Thoughts?
Genuine question — why is leaving early during stretching considered such a big issue if the stretches are the same every class? I’m curious whether instructors see it as disrespectful, or if it’s more about student safety and making sure everyone stretches properly… it’s never made that much sense to me since they aren’t curating that section, but maybe I’m missing something!!!
Hi!!! I hate going to the gym so I decided to try corepower and i fell in love with it. I’m just wondering if I should keep going or if I should switch to another class based on the results that I want….?
First I just wanna say I’m already really skinny😅 but 1) I want to get more toned in my stomach area and 2) gain muscle literally everywhere that I can because I’m so weak
I started just last week and I only do YogaSculpt. How many times a week should I go? Do I need to do classes besides YogaSculpt? Is there something other than CorePower that I should do instead?? And do I need to change my diet (lots of protein and not much JUNK junk, but eat a lot of “healthy alternative” snacks throughout the day and carbs)……..
Does anyone know the best way to get a workout in at CPY while keeping your blowout looking good so you can go before work?
