What’s your CorePower “split”?

Hi! I’m currently in DC and recently got the All Access membership when I joined SET, and I’m loving it so far. I lifted for the last 4 years but have fallen out of love with it. I still have my gym membership but it will expire on September 1st, and with DC prices, I can’t afford my gym and the membership (even with SET discount, I got student loans lol), so CorePower is about to become my main workout. For those who really only do CorePower as well (and cardio, I have a treadmill in my apartment), what’s your weekly split look like? I want to focus on preserving some of my muscle and overall just feel good!

What do you consider ghosting?

I saw a Twitter thread about this and, my friend and I recently had a conversation about this and what ghosting truly means, in regard to online dating. The thread argued that sending a message (Simply a hi or introduction message to a prompt) and getting no response back is ghosting. My friend said after a few messages of back and forth, then no response would be ghosted. I disagree with both. To me, it would be ghosting to not respond after several messages back and forth (1-2 weeks), getting to know a person a bit, and then making solid plans or a date. I have only done the latter once but I feel like the first two don’t really count because you truly don’t know the person. What do you all think?

Kenzie, Immature but not Malicious

I’ve seen a few posts across a few platforms about how Kenzie is going after men to spite the girls (Bea and Gabe or Jen and Gal) which could very much be true but her actions reflect immaturity if anything to me.

Kenzie reminds me a lot of girls I knew freshmen year of college who went buck wild with dating, hook ups, and boys the second they escaped their hometowns, especially with guys who were the opposite of what they knew. I know she’s technically from an Atlanta suburb which is pretty diverse but still. Dylan and Caleb are attractive and seem nice but to be fair, they’re just basic white guys I see all the time (I grew up in Marietta, GA). Compared to guys like Gabe, Corbin, even Gal (not even cute just very different West Coast vibe) who are just guys she isn’t running into on a night out.

This isn’t a Kenzie defender post per say and maybe I’m being too nice but she reminds me of my freshman year college friends so I have a small (emphasis on small) soft spot for her. Maybe I’m being nostalgic, too haha

Question on Types

Forgive me if this isn’t allowed but why is there such a focus of race in regard to someone’s “type?” Of course this is a larger issue but I’ve noticed it increasingly more in discourse about this show over the last couple of seasons.

Sean showed interest in Kenzie, Bea, and Aniya. Of course, they’re all different races but they’re all very athletic looking women and people were confused. People insist Trinity can’t be Bryce’s type because he went after Kayda or he follows white models on Instagram. Kayda and Trinity are both tall and skinny, and share a very similar body type. Even vice versa. Trinity in her intro said she wanted a man with a real job and is handy which Bryce is, is he not? Sol and Aniya are both similarly built but I saw people up and arms about how KC could be attracted to both (it’s f KC btw). I understand race as a preference but I’ve never viewed it as the most defining part of someone’s “type”?

Maybe I’m being ignorant here so please comment if you think I am because I’m curious and want to discuss. I’ve lived in multiple major, diverse and progressive (a better word isn’t coming to mind, forgive me lol) where things like body type, personality, career goals (I live in DC…) take priority to race.

Disco/Funk Bars or Clubs in the DMV?

I'm a woman in my early/mid 20s whose been living in DC for around five months now. I'm a party girl at heart, so I've been to a decent amount of bars in my neighborhood/surrounding areas, but haven't found any that play disco or funk. I can vibe with any type of music - R&B, rap, country, Top 40, you name it but I LOVE disco and miss dancing to it.

Are there any in DC (or even MD or VA)? Thinking like Donna Summer, ABBA, Diana Ross, MJ (Off the Wall era), KC & the Sunshine Band :)
