Hi everyone! I’m looking for some honest advice from other paralegals/legal assistants because I’m not sure if I’m being reasonable or getting ahead of myself.
I started at my current law firm in February as a legal assistant and was promoted to Senior Legal Assistant after about three months. I currently make $50K.
Since starting, I feel like my responsibilities have grown quite a bit beyond what I was originally hired to do. Some of the things I’ve taken on include:
Going above and beyond for clients, including making trips to the courthouse and DMV when necessary to get things resolved for them.
Handling the firm’s social media and creating content/materials through Canva. I’ve also been using my personal Canva subscription for some of the firm’s work.
Taking over the firm’s billing process while another employee was out.
Preparing motions to seal, which were not part of my original job responsibilities.
Handling last-minute/time-sensitive tasks, including getting documents signed by the attorney and submitted to the court during or immediately before hearings.
Consistently working quickly and making sure deadlines and tasks are handled without needing a lot of follow-up.
I’m always willing to help and I genuinely enjoy being someone the attorneys can rely on, so I’m not upset about taking on additional responsibilities. I’m actually proud of how much I’ve learned and how much I’ve grown since February.
However, I’m wondering if the expansion of my responsibilities is enough to justify asking for a raise now, or if I should wait until the end of the year/around my one-year mark.
I’m also not sure how much I should ask for. Is going from $50K to somewhere around $55–60K unreasonable after only six months, especially considering the promotion and additional responsibilities?
For those of you who work in law firms: Would you ask now, wait until the end of the year, or wait until the one-year mark? And how would you approach the conversation?
I’m not looking to leave my firm…I genuinely like my job and would prefer to grow here. I just want to make sure I’m advocating for myself appropriately and not asking for something unreasonable too early.

Rhythm and Winter fell out bc of a man. basically the guy was talking to them both and rhythm had brought back to winter‘s attention so they both decided that their friendship is too worthy of losing it over a guy. So they’re both agreed to leave the guy alone then rhythm went behind winters back and was still talking to the guy and she had purposely FaceTime the guy in front of winter while she was at her house in a weird way to kind of show her that she was still messing with him
Why does it seem like every time winter finds herself in a conflict with her boyfriend, she always agrees with whatever the situation is? There’s no way that after twelve guys she’s been with, it’s always their fault. She needs to tell her that she needs to do better.

I’ve been working on releasing my book for months now and it’s been extremely stressful.
My book keeps getting rejected by Amazon even literally trying everything to make it fit the guidelines.
I’ve even removed the illustrations and eveything! I don’t know what else to do, and my scheduled release date is June 1st. Is there anyone that could please help me with this? I’m willing to pay! Please.🙏
