I’m 28 and dealing with heavy hair thinning, mainly on the crown and mid-scalp. It’s gotten to the point where I avoid mirrors and it’s affecting my confidence a lot.
Recent blood tests are mostly normal. I checked Vitamin D and it was low earlier, so I’m currently taking 60,000 IU weekly as prescribed. No other major health issues.
I also have dandruff and noticed hair fall increases when I comb or after travel/stress. Family history is present (my brother has similar thinning).
I’ve tried to avoid jumping into treatments blindly. I’m hesitant about long-term meds like minoxidil/finasteride because of dependency/side effects, but I’m open to hearing real experiences.
My questions:
- Is this stage reversible or only manageable?
- Has anyone improved without lifelong medication?
- Did treating dandruff/scalp health reduce shedding?
- When should someone seriously consider a transplant?
I’ve recently shaved my head and planning to start gym + fix diet.
Would really appreciate honest advice from people who’ve gone through this.
