Taking a year off

In the middle of my fourth year (English lit), my relationship with my committ ee completely broke down and I found out that a couple of them were going to leave my committee without telling me. I managed to convince them to stay, but it just completely ruined how I felt about the process and gave me so much anxiety and panic.

So I took a health leave of absence to get a handle on my mental health. I intended to only take a semester, then get back into it. But when I reached out to my advisor about halfway through the semester voicing my concerns with how things went down and my eagerness to come back, she barely acknowledged my issues. She had been my one supporter during the process, and even the other members were vocally supportive of me taking the leave - but I can't shake the feeling that they all hate me.

I feel like I need to take the whole year off to fully shake this panic I feel. Does anyone have experience taking a year off? Is it likely to ruin my chances with the committee even more?
