Launchpad Talk on 20 May: how a frustrated newcomer built a transit app for the Island solo with AI
Heads up if anyone's interested — we're hosting a talk at Launchpad on Wednesday 20 May at 5:30pm and I think it's going to be a good one.
Itamar moved to the Island, couldn't figure out the buses on his first day (he was trying to get to McDonald's, of all places), and eventually built Kivoon — a public transit app for the Isle of Man with timetables, live tracking, and an automated content engine. Solo, over a few weekends, with Claude doing a lot of the heavy lifting.
He's going to walk through the whole build — parsing the raw GTFS data, the prompts that worked, the bits that broke, and the self-improvement loop that's keeping the app getting better on its own.
Free, all welcome. Disclosure: I manage Launchpad, so I'm obviously biased about coming along, but I wanted to flag it for anyone here who'd find it interesting.
