New Woolies worker — joined SDA but want to cancel before first deduction
Got approached by an SDA agent at Woolies today and signed up pretty quickly without fully understanding it. I’m a permanent employee.
Afterwards I realised it involves monthly deductions from my pay for membership fees, which I didn’t fully understand at the time. They also mentioned it’s “100% tax deductible,” which I initially thought meant you get it fully back at tax time, but I’ve since learned that’s not exactly how it works.
My deductions haven’t started yet, so I’m considering resigning/cancelling before anything is taken out. Has anyone gone through cancelling SDA membership right after signing up? How smooth is the process?
