Casual store member weekly shifts
How many hours of shift do you get in a week if you are a casual store member?
Are these good? I am looking for good substitute for homemade roti.
Anyone tried one of these? Do they taste like traditional roti? $5 for 8 pieces.
Union Help??? Kronos rostering - not including tea breaks
This post is for any department managers that do rostering.
Do you guys find it frustrating that the rostering system does not include tea breaks in the roster? I work in nightfill and say I have 2 hours worth of tea breaks and i’m on target hours, i’m actually down 2 hours.
The main solution to this is I miss my own break as a manager, work way harder past my pay grade and stay back late.
Or I have to roster the team shifts that are under 4 hours to avoid tea breaks overall, and i’m not a monster so why would I do that? That just increases staff turnover, lowers morale and if someone has a shift without a break they are most definitely going for a ‘bathroom’ break.
It’s a very frustrating situation especially in nightfill. This simply goes unaddressed and i’m sick and tired of it to be completely honest. The response from the store services lady when I told her about this: “you’re stuffed”. The response from grocery manager “lots of things at woolworths aren’t fair”
Realistically could the union do anything about this???
Rounding option.
Is there any way you can disable the self checkout from asking if you’d like to round up your shop to the nearest dollar to donate to some cause of the month? Grocery shopping is expensive as is.
Missed item
Went through self service at the local Woolworths and realised when I got home that I had forgotten to scan two items total value about $9.
It was an honest mistake as I was trying to make sure my 4 year old didn’t run away.
Am I going to be on a watchlist now or something. I feel really guilty but I’m embarrassed to go back to the store and confess. What should I do?
Resignation 🤪
I'm part time, have worked for Woolworths since 2022 and considering resigning as I've had enough of being treated like a number 🥰
I've got 2 different starting dates on my employment offer letter as I transferred stores. I was at the first store for 12 months (casual), then transferred to my current one (changed to part time on my first day there) that I've been at for 2.5 years
Do I go off my original employment date for the amount of notice I need to give? Or do I go off the date I commenced at my current store? The EBA is a bit confusing
How to best eat this?
Picked up a few of these when they were 50-60% off now I don’t know how to eat them
Health hazard!
ALWAYS CHECK YOUR PRODUCE!
Took this photo on 30/3/26 at Woolworths Highgate (Perth). I reported it to the closest staff member available at the time (a teenage cashier), but she showed no interest and didn’t take it seriously.
I’m glad Woolworths is already under investigation for misleading pricing practices, but I honestly think their produce standards and hiring processes also need to be looked at. A lot of staff seem to be uni students hired cheaply, and there’s very little accountability or care when issues are raised.
Changed ingredients?
Had this for lunch today haven’t had a pack for probably over a year and I cannot explain how disgusting it was and the after taste was horrendous
They must of changed ingredients or something?
I just had to vent they were never this bad and I’m regretting wasting money on this garbage
Anyone bothered at the fact staff and security cannot do anything while shoplifting takes place?
I’m actually bothered by this because it does nothing to deter these people. As a matter of fact, you’re only encouraging them to do it again and again again while passing on the bill towards people who actually pay for their groceries.
This is disgusting and it needs to stop. Either go bankrupt, or catch the perpetrators
New woollies entrance being trialled
Looks like it belongs on a sheep farm if you ask me.
Not so kid friendly either.
Woolworths pricing is ridiculous
Today I purchased a chocolate bar and an apple and they cost the same, which seems so morally wrong. I'm all for paying farmers more but there's no way Woolworths isn't making a ridiculous amount from fresh produce. The apple was on sale by the way
Signs at Woolies checkouts re new gates.
first of all sorry about the terrible photo, the top sign is about the introduction of the new AI powered gates while the bottom one is about the Ai powered checkouts.
The top sign explicitly says that no customer images will be captured or recorded followed by the bottom sign saying they will be...
I just found it kind of funny, it's a bit 'make you mind up woolies'
Online Shoppers
I don’t normally get deliveries or pickup, but I have been bed ridden for awhile, so it’s the only option for my family for the next few weeks.
I have a question for online shoppers: If I pick a particular yogurt that’s in stock and chose to not substitute, but the note I leave on the item says ‘If expiry date is before XX/XX/XXXX, please do not provide’, does that get honoured and do I just get refunded?
My kids only like a certain brand of yogurt, but the last two online shops I have done, the yogurts exp date has been within 2 or 3 days, and half the tub goes to waste. I have msgd Woolworths about it, and they’ve said because it was in date when supplied, they can’t do anything about it.
So until I am back on my feet and can shop in person again, would this work?
How do I interpret the calories here?
I'm just trying to calculate how much protein is in what I just ate. It's a Woolworths Roast Chicken Quarter.
Servings per package/kilogram: 4.00
Serving size: 150.00g
So then did I just eat (150 x 4, 600g) of chicken?? I hope I didn't just eat 120g+ of protein..
Rant about truck and partner delivery assignments… The only way to guarantee a truck is to order more than 75 items.
TL;DR The only way to *guarantee* a Woolworths-branded truck is to order 76+ items. All other orders with 75 items or less for most metropolitan postcodes on the east coast are assigned between Linfox-Woolworths trucks and partner drivers at Woolies’ discretion based on their business needs (driver availability, systemwide order volume, route optimisation, the day of the week, the number of orders in the same area at a given time, etc.).
I have noticed that there is some confusion about how orders are assigned to either a Woolworths-branded truck or a partner delivery driver (when ordered via the Woolworths app/website).
Especially for orders that are placed several days in advance, the order page will often state “Your driver details will be assigned closer to the delivery time.” Your order could be given a firm assignment to either truck delivery or partner delivery within minutes of submitting your order. It could also take hours or days before that firm assignment is made. There are things that will improve your chances of a truck delivery, but the only way to guarantee a Woolworths truck is to order 76+ items. This is not new news. This has been this way for many months now, slowly expanding across the delivery footprint.
In theory, there should be little difference between truck and partner driver deliveries, other than the absence of a refrigerated truck. And, there are many partner drivers who do their best to provide great service. But, the grim reality is that there are also heaps of partner drivers who have little care for good service or food safety.
To those that will say customers should simply go to the store and do their shopping directly… there is some truth in that for the willing-and-able population I suppose. However, complicity accepting substandard service only gives corporates more reason to dumb down service and raise fees (not that there’s a viable delivery alternative that’s any better in the supermarket racket).
How clean are our salads in vacuum packed bags?
I just saw the post of a frog found in a salad bag. I’m seriously not surprised. I used to add the salads to stir-fries straight from bags.
One day, I looked at the packet of salad and it looked dull. I thought maybe it needs a rinse and I was shocked to see a strand of hair, sand, some residue of something like black sand and the water was murky.
Since then I have rinsed my salads before cooking. I cannot even imagine cooking these veggies with remnants of the garden in my gut 🤢.
Rinse with some salt and if it’s murky, rinse again.
Right to Disconnect- Team Member
Does Woolworths have a policy or documents about the Right to Disconnect laws? I know FairWork have documents, but wanting to see if Woolworths have any specific documents, or where I can find this published by Woolworths?
Asking as my DM is requesting all team members to engage in a What's App group about work at all times, even when we're not at work. It sounds very fishy to me and I thought we had the right to disconnect outside of work?
Like I understand if it's urgent messages about shifts then sure, but we're being told to reply to updates and news about our department off the clock like non-urgent matters
