Why is all the news on the steam machine so negative? Have I made a mistake?

I've recently bought the steam machine 512g with a controller and I'm waiting for it to be delivered. But while waiting I can see people saying negative things about it. Is it worth it? Or have I made a mistake?. I already have a ps5, switch 2, and a Nvidia rtx 3060 pc. But while I do like my pc, i didn't like windows and I like to chill on my Sofa or bed when playing story games or RPGs. So I brought the steam machine because I like the idea of quick access to my steam library on my TV and emulation. The idea was i would get rid of my ps5 because F Sony, I use my pc still for multiplayer games that don't work on steam os then my switch 2 was for the exclusive and portable gaming. Then my steam machine would be for playing in the living room, so it would do my steam library and emulation, I heard it's got decent support thanks to the steam deck for emulation. I really wanted to emulate Wii, game cube, ps3 and ps2.

I heard the steam machine is still a little buggy and still needs work and it's gonna struggle with a lot of AAA games. The only AAA I play a lot are resident evil games, I was also planning to play spider man and death stranding. I know indie games will be fine and most rpg. So back to my original question have I made a mistake?
