Literature references in Golden Kamuy?

This might just be a weird thing my brain does because I really enjoy any type of literature, but it was episode 6 or 7 (don't think about it...) in season 5 where Lt. Tsurumi talked about in detail how everyone kinda carried something during war and what soldiers were carrying that he noticed. And it really made me think about the book The Things They Carried by Tim O'Brien. It's kinda like an exact reference in my observation. I will edit this post when I go back and watch it. The book is about short stories on American soldiers in the Vietnam War, exploring the physical and emotional burdens they carry, but it's all like fiction, not based on real people. I really love all the parallels with art in this show! I'm not done with season 5 yet!
