I don't know why I am sharing this here but I couldn't find any person to share with so sharing here..

My parents and I wanted to go to Nagpur, so we took an Indigo Bengaluru Nagpur flight. Now as we were about to reach Nagpur, there was heavy turbulence. The weather was very bad. The flight was going up and down. I thought this flight may crash. My parents were very scared. So our flight was diverted to Raipur.

I was in my own world taking care of my parents. Then a person handed his phone to me and signalled me to help. He was frightened. I took his phone and spoke to this guy . The guy on the phone told me that he was his Indian counterpart and this person did not know any Hindi or English and he was a Chinese national. So I gave him all the details about what happened to our flight. The Indian counterpart requested me to help him in case anything is needed.

The Chinese national was a bit scared as he was new to our country so I tried to console him. I tried to speak to him in some sign language about the flight. He used a Mandarin to English translator and thanked me for my help. Our flight was in Raipur for more than 2 hours.

Later once the flight was to depart, i signalled him that flight will take off and he must wear his seat belt. He got relaxed and did a namaste to me with a little bow. I reciprocated his gesture. He seemed like a nice person to me.

I know I didn't do anything big, but the guy thanked me twice by doing namaste . He even did a namaste again and thanked me in Mandarin once we offboarded the flight. I hope he will get a good impression about India and our people with my small gesture.

On the other hand our Indian folks don't even treat each other properly. We need to have empathy and respect for our folks as well.

PS: I know the word Chinese national may sound alarm bells but since he was in our country I am sure that our immigration officers would have done a thorough job and make sure everything is fine.
