Have I lost the plot no 3.

Again, sorry, can only upload 1 video per post. This one really looks like something pacing back and forward. Again, no shadows in window and door closed so cant be coming from elsewhere outside of the bedroom (excuse the mess... I have kids and apparently a ghost who doesn't tidy up either)

Have I lost the plot no. 2

Sorry, I cant seem to attach more than one video per post... this is the second. It is rather non specific, but just weird because no shadows coming from window, nothing at our height outside to cause shadows and bedroom door closed

Have I lost the plot?

I never gave much thought to paranormal things. I did not disbelieve as such, but never encountered the faintest whiff of anything paranormal despite working in a trauma ICU with a lot of visibility of death, dying, trauma and grief. Colleagues would sometimes share ghost stories from work but I kind of dismissed these and the ravings of sleep deprived night shift workers inhaling the fumes if a cacophony of medications (not really).

I moved into a new flat a few years ago. The past few months my children have refused to sleep in their room, because of a ghost. Again, put it down to kids imagination but didn't dismiss them. I intentionally got a king size bed anticipating this phase and they both crash in my bed, no problems. Neither will go to their room, the nearby bathroom or kitchen by themselves at night. Again, not abnormal fear of the dark.

I have also heard something frequently calling my name. It is a male voice, uses my nickname not my full name and is generally gentle and inquisitive in tone. Nothing else is ever said, just my name. Lately the tone of the voice has sounded more urgent, like someone calling to get your attention. I have completely ignored this and genuinely did not think it paranormal as auditory isolated hallucinations are very common when fatigued, and I have been *exhausted*. Many weeks back I had a super weird thing happen which felt -very- real. I was lying in bed on my side. I heard this voice, repeatedly which was unusual. Usually its just my name, this time jt was my name but a few times in a row, I felt a whack in the centre middle of my back, like a firm back whack but not violent or aggressive. Then a grey mist appeared, gathered together like dust all collecting in a pile, grew into a taller figure but not shapely enough to be a person shape or anything. It came to my bed, I was absolutely terrified, the shape dissipated back into a cloud like form and surrounded me, and I felt like it was holding me, about to pick me up. It did not feel menacing, I didn't feel like it was holding me down or anything, more like it wanted to pick me up and hold me like a baby. After multiple attempts I manage to splutter out "please stop,... not in my bedroom, this is my space, please stop". It immediately stopped and everything went back to normal.

It felt very real, and rattled me completely. But ... my first sleep paralysis? Of course, whatever it was it was obviously just a dream.

Nothing since. Except a feeling of being watched whenever I am in the kids room, but probably just giving myself the spooks.

I have also recently set up little nanny cams in my main living area and the kids room - mostly for security due to a concerning over enthusiastic unstable suitor (not suited) who got ditched and blocked.

This has showed up on the camera in the kids room. All different days.

We live upstairs, so cannot be shadows of someone walking by - and there are no shadows coming from the window anyway. The bedroom door was closed for all of these, so not shadows from outside the room. No one was home at any of these times. And the camera in the living area shows no one else coming or going into the house or their room. There is absolutely no one sneaking into their room, as my unit is locked but also they would have to show up on the living space camera because the bedroom comes directly off this - how do I attach more than one video?! Comments don't permit video... help me redditors!

The third one really looks like someone pacing backwards and forwards... except I cant seem to attach them... do I need to put it up as a new post?

A tiny black cat called Jafar.

Just a quick question to clarify my rights.

I moved into my place 3 years ago. The lease agreement said strictly no pets. I had a small, smoochy, lovely black tuxedo cat called Jafar. He was very good for my autistic son in emotional regulation and teaching responsibility - i.e. he had to feed him, and brush him etc. To learn about things existing outside of his own brain.

When we moved in Jafar went to live with a friend of mine. My son asks about him every second day and when we can get him back.

Nsw laws have changed regarding pets, my understanding is that they cannot be refused unless there is reasonable concern they will cause harm or damage.

I asked my landlord today if we could get my pet back and this was her response.

Hi <me>,

Thank you for your message and for explaining the situation regarding your son and the cat. I understand your thoughts and appreciate why the cat is meaningful to your family, especially in supporting your son.

After careful consideration, however, I am unfortunately unable to approve keeping a cat at the property.

As outlined in the rental agreement, pets are not permitted in the property. This is mainly due to concerns about potential property damage and ongoing maintenance issues. Cats are naturally active animals and can scratch walls, flooring, doors, and other surfaces, even when they are well trained and fully house trained.

There are also concerns regarding hygiene and odor. Although cats are generally clean pets, litter trays, pet odors, and shedding fur can affect the condition and air quality of the home and may create difficulties for future tenants.

In addition, cats in heat can sometimes create noise disturbances for neighbors, which may lead to complaints.

I understand this may be disappointing news, and I appreciate your understanding and cooperation in respecting the terms of the tenancy agreement.

Kind regards,

<Landlord>

I am not going to pursue the issue until I have enough money saved up to move places. I don't want to move but I am worried that if backed into a corner, she may evict us based on another reasonable claim such as selling the place or whatever and I won't be financially in a place to move and be screwed. But once I have enough funds saved I would like to challenge this. But my question is, does the new law apply even if the lease said "strictly no pets", despite this being signed before the new law came into effect? And are her concerns around the cat a reasonable risk of property damage that would justify her refusal? Also, the cat is male and desexed so never "on heat". Also, I have a 4 year old and 6 year old who are far more destructive with hygiene risks than the cat has ever been!
