Monica had a really unfair upbringing

I know this is already quite well known with how nit-picky her mom was about every little thing growing up, but I just realized I’m not sure if I ever saw her mom taking proper accountability for it. It just seemed very annoying to see her constantly call her out for every little thing especially when she already struggles with so much Perfectionism and OCD which I’m sure she would’ve played a part in. Was this ever properly addressed by her mom in any ep?

21F thinking of switching from CS to IT. Am I making a mistake?

I’m 21F in Canada and technically should be going into my 4th year, but because I transferred, had to repeat some courses and failed a few, I’m basically only going into second-year CS now. I’m pretty burnt out and it sucks feeling this far behind when I started uni at 18 and only completed first year (and two second year) courses all these years.

I’m thinking about switching to a BA/BCom in IT. A lot of my credits would transfer, and I’ve looked at the courses/material and feel like I’d have a much better chance of actually doing well and not falling behind again. I’ll also be properly medicated for ADHD going forward so hopefully that helps too.

The main thing keeping me in CS is honestly fear. I don’t really have a strong interest in SWE but I’m worried it’s just the burnout talking and it’ll get more interesting later. I also keep hearing that CS can do almost everything that IT majors can do and a lot more and that I should just suck it up and finish it. When I look at job postings, I also see “CS degree” in their qualifications everywhere, including for jobs that aren’t necessarily SWE.

I’m not even 100% sure what I want to do career-wise yet, I had engineering as my next main interest but it’s almost impossible to change into that right now due to my gpa. I just know I want decent job prospects and I’d like to get my GPA up in case I want to do grad school later.

Would I actually be screwing myself over by switching to IT, especially in Canada/ontario? Does CS vs IT matter that much for non-SWE jobs once you have experience? I’m scared of leaving CS and regretting it, but also scared of wasting more time forcing myself through a degree I’m already struggling with.

Would you restart your degree at 21 to get into civil engineering?

I’m 21F in Canada currently in CS and pretty burnt out, supposed to be entering my 4th year but still entering my second due to repeat/failed courses. I’ve also realized I don’t really have much interest in CS itself anymore. I could switch into my school’s BA/BCom IT program without losing nearly as much time, or switch to civil engineering and basically start over.

I keep coming back to civil because I’m way more interested in infrastructure, transportation, construction/land development and that whole side of things. The job market also seems pretty decent whereas tech/IT feels so competitive right now that finishing sooner doesn’t necessarily feel like the safer choice when I’m already less interested in it.

But starting over and doing another 4ish years of engineering when I’m already burnt out sounds insane lol. I sometimes miss the high school physics but I imagine it’s way harder in university.

For people actually working in civil, would you restart in this situation? And if I don’t, are there jobs on the infrastructure/transportation/land development side I could realistically get into with an IT degree + further education later, or does not having the engineering degree/P.Eng shut you out of most of it?
I’m also interested in GIS/geomatics which is partly why I’m wondering if there’s another route into this general area.

Does your bachelor’s actually matter that much for GIS/geomatics jobs?

I’m 21F in Canada switching out of CS from burnout and considering a BCom in IT. If I pair that with a GIS certificate/master’s later, would I still be competitive for GIS/geomatics jobs in Canada?
Or do employers strongly prefer a full geography/geomatics bachelor’s or geomatics engineering degree?

Basically wondering if I need to restart a whole degree for this field, and if not then what jobs am I giving up not doing a full bachelors degree related to this field.

21F stuck in CS and have no idea what to switch into anymore

I’m 21F in Canada doing a CS degree. I’m supposed to be going into 4th year but I’m basically only entering second year because I’ve struggled with courses, and I’m extremely burnt out. I can’t tell if I should keep forcing myself through CS because it’s practical, or accept that it isn’t working and switch.

The options I keep coming back to are civil/geomatics engineering, geology/earth science or geography/GIS, and my university’s BCom Information Technology program.

Civil/geomatics engineering probably interests me the most because I’m drawn to more physical/outdoor work and tangible projects. I have the prerequisites and did well in math/physics, but I’d basically be starting over and committing to another 4 years of a difficult program.

Geology or geography/GIS also interest me, but I’m worried about job prospects in Canada and whether they’re too niche compared to engineering.

ITECH would be the easiest switch and would let me keep a tech background, but then I wonder if I’d be better off just finishing CS anyway since it may be more useful.

I keep going in circles because every option has a big downside and I’m scared of wasting even more time and money.
If you have experience with any of these fields, I’d really appreciate your perspective.

TL;DR: 21F in Canada, significantly behind in a CS degree and burnt out. Considering restarting in civil/geomatics engineering, switching to geology/GIS, or moving into an IT/business-tech degree. I’m worried about wasting more time/money but also about forcing myself through CS. Which path makes the most sense for actual career prospects?

Landlord charging 740 fee after move out

So menkes (my landlord/property management) is charging me a cleaning and repair fee post move out. I understand the deep cleaning fee because I didn’t leave it in very ordinarily clean condition (the oven and ac filter and fridge weren’t properly cleaned) and very few junk items left behind (which was on me since I had to rush a lot due to my circumstance at the time).

But I’m not sure if the repair costs are beyond the reasonable wear and tear, and it’s very hard and exhausting communicating with them since they are very adamant and I just want to confirm that it’s reasonable so I don’t wrongfully dispute.

From what I remember there was led strips left on the wall. That wasn’t any significant wall damage at all, just marks. I removed the significant one with a magic eraser but didn’t have time for the rest so maybe some areas of the wall are understandable for them to be charging for. The living room adhesive they’re referring to must be the 3 small posters that I forgot to remove that were stuck with tape, I’m not sure what they mean by patching since I didn’t drill anything into the wall. There was a small damage on the floor due to the bed frame, but that’s it. Also not sure why I’m liable for the material/paint cost and pickup, that seems kind of absurd to me.

Is this a reasonable fee overall? Or is there anything in this worth disputing, please let me know, I appreciate any input.

Is this a scam

Someone sent me tickets via the FIFA app and I got an email confirmation saying the ticket is assigned to my account but not delivered until the payment is complete. I’m a bit sketched out because the payment arrangement is private (through Facebook marketplace) so if I send the money would he just be able to redact the ticket after? I’d be sending through PayPal goods and services. But I haven’t seen anyone not have the option to accept the ticket so does this seem like a scam? They said it will be processed together after the second ticket transfer but idk..

Edit: This was a scam, be careful everyone!

Looking for 2 tickets to Senegal vs Iraq or Ghana vs Panama

My budget is 700-800 for both tickets I don’t care about the category or seats as long as they’re seated together. This might be a stretch but if anyone is willing to sell at that price let me know😭
