Rant: I work at a law firm as a paralegal. There are 5 paralegals in my department. There are 3 paralegals under 30. I have a (liberal arts) degree from a "public ivy". One of the paras I trained has a (liberal arts) degree from a "public ivy". The other has a mba. I learned today I will be training a new para, under 30, who also has a mba. His position probably pays $50k a year in a HCOL. There are two 2 paras in their 50s. Neither have a 4 year degree. The 2 paras in their 70s my trainee and I replaced had no college education and were a hairdresser and a bartender before they worked at the firm.

I didn't mind it much until one of the older paras made a comment about how she thought young people with our degrees would be more useful.

Feeling bleak lately looking at job postings.
