1938 D Penny

I am a straight up newbie to this. I run a thrift shop and came across a 1938 D penny. Not in great shape, I suppose maybe decent considering it’s from 1938. But thought I recalled D marked coins being worth more for some reason. Wanted to get thoughts on this little guy. Thanks!

Was pretty happy with this cook. Didn’t even pull out a thermometer! Cast Iron griddle sear after a 24 hr dry brine. Homemade chimichurri and green goddess dressing for the salad, Portuguese red from some friends to wash it down.
