I made some of the itsu vegetable soup dumplings in the microwave and when I opened the bag they had white spots over them so when I looked underneath they are white and sort of looks like the fuzzy rind on a camembert or brie. I feel like the colour in general maybe looks greener than usual as well.
I eat these quite regularly but usually cook them in a steamer, but today I was lazy and did them in the microwave in the packaging so didn't see them until after they cooked. I have microwaved them before in the past, but I've never seen them look like this. I only bought them a few days ago from morrisons and everything else in my freezer is fine. Is it mould or could it be freezer burn or cornstarch? They don't smell particularly bad but I was too put off to try eating them.
